Outreach |
Here are a few outreach projects and ministries supported by the members of our church family... |
Mobile Meals |
A non-profit ministry that prepares and delivers hot meals to the homebound Monday through Friday with the help of a network of volunteers. St. Margaret’s currently has several members delivering meals daily within the Boiling Springs community. If you would like to volunteer for this outreach ministry please contact Caroline Smoogen at smooge@earthlink.net. |
Ministry to the Elderly |
Each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. volunteers from St. Margaret’s conduct a worship service as well as visit with residents at Valley Fall Terrace. On the 3rd Sunday of the month at 3:00 p.m. we conduct a worship service at Rose Crest Lutheran Home. Our youth also participate in service projects with the nursing home throughout the year. If you are interested in this outreach ministry please contact Caroline Smoogen at smooge@earthlink.net or call the church office at (864) 578-3238. |
The first Sunday of each month at St. Margaret’s is designated as “Canned Goods Sunday.” It is on these special Sundays that we ask members to donate non-perishable food such as canned meats and vegetables, cereals, pasta, sugar and flour, and baby food. This food is donated to Harvest Family Ministries at the Upstate Family Resource Center in Boiling Springs. The Family Resource Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm and is located at 1850 Old Furnace Road, Boiling Springs, SC. |

Monthly Food Drive |

Malawi is the poorest African nation. The average yearly income is $200. St. Margaret's, along with the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi, is working to send relief to the orphans of this poverty and AIDS stricken country. Tragically, most of these orphans will see more funerals than celebrate their own birthdays. By working closely with Father Alban Katemba of Malawi, St. Margaret’s seeks to bring a better life and educational opportunities to the youngest victims of this epidemic. If you are interested in this vital ministry please contact Rev. Alan Leonard at (864) 578-3238. |
